🔴 Oil and Brushes Only - IMAGOSCAPE - 1m x 0.5m

This is the first landscape I have completed using only oil paint and brushes, I have used copious amounts of damar glaze and it will probably take about a fortnight to dry, it smells really nice, like funky pine trees. Oil painting is more difficult than mixed media and acrylic painting, it is a fact and why oil painting in part are considered more valuable. I have lived the process of oil paint for the last few months, swotting and reading and mixing and practicing a lot. Like all magical analogue substrates it requires a lot of learning a lot of technique and a patience which I think it’s clear my previous work did not posses. Finding a balance between this more considered light touch, and the whirling dervish has been difficult but I am on my way. Frankly I will probably go back to mixed media but I had to at least make one big painting with only oils and brushes to at least feel I have at least got the basics in my eye, my mind and my hand. I have been battling with both forming new techniques as well as making everything in a 2 mile radius of my hands slightly pigmented. This stuff gets everywhere and takes weeks to dry, nothing is safe. Speaking of which this painting will probably not be safe to move till about the 8-10th of March so please bear this in mind if you do want to purchase it. I do think this is a step forward in my painting, the brush work has to be fluid and confident and I feel for the most part I have cut a dash with this one. My spirit is in the form no?
