John Carson - Album Artwork / Illustration

Here's the latest release from house of schm•. John Carson is a singer songwriter & producer from Clydebank. All produced in Johns home studio in clydebank the record sounds polished and I tip my hat to Johns production skills. Not only is it technically very well made, Johns songs, voice and playing are great and you know what? It's great to hear a song album with some proper f***i*g guitar solos on it. Johns right hand man Paul Rezza has also done a great job with the song writing, playing and keeping the whole project kicking along to get it to this point. I'd be very surprised if one of these songs doesn't get picked up by the mainstream, it has all the hallmarks of high quality, modern pop music and it'd be a travesty if John doesn't see some of the success he rightfully deserves.So the album artwork is based around John and his home studio. The man is real enthusiast for modern production, all the gear and how to use it to make a record that sounds like it could've been made in a big plush, pro studio. So after a wee trip to his house to gather some photos I set about creating the stylised illustration that forms the main concept. Lately I have been enjoying a lot of creative freedom and the same was true of this project. The guys had enough confidence in my previous work that after a concept was established they granted me artistic license, which always make for a happy schm•. Based around several portraits of the man I developed a geometric vector style that fitted the modern sound of the music nicely. Intertwined with the equipment in Johns studio and hundreds of colourful stylised wires we got a result which I am particularly happy with.Go give the album a listen @ johncarson.bandcamp.com & then make sure to buy it.
