RURA - Band photography
Occasionally I get a job that involves some light adventure. I like these jobs, it get's me out of my digital cage and back out in, 3d, analogue, reality. It's fun, inspiring and get's everybody thoroughly involved in the process.RURA are a great bunch of loons, there was maximum craic despite me dragging them up and down dale at Cambusbarron quarry. We were super lucky with the weather, when we set out from Glasgow it was hoorin' it down with rain, which gave us some good dark shots in the woods before it cleared up and the sun came out. Once we made our way to the quarry it was like 20 degrees and some of these shots look like they could've been taken in Arizona. So aye, the guys have got a new album coming out next year and we're getting the album cover and website underway. Should be a magnificent record. I caught the band live for the first time at celtic connections back in january and they were mighty indeed. You can see the photos I got here.http://somhairle.co.uk/category/everything/celtic-connections-gig-photography-24th-janAnd you can see some photos I took for Simone Smith during the filming of RED in cambusbarron quarry. It really is a gallus place, imposing, bleak and vissualy epic.http://somhairle.co.uk/category/everything/page/2/red-production-stills
