The Chickpeas - Logo Design - Band Photography

The Chickpeas have had a tiny wee change of lineup and being established customers of schmO they came back to get a refresh. The last time they were in we pictured them with tiny, tiny instruments and in a minor revelation the guys came up with the idea of making them tiny and perching them on one of the instruments, which would be super large. So this is what we did. I took photos of the accordion and then posed the 'peas' in ways I thought would fit onto the massive box in post. I went so far as to pitch peoples feet forward on a plank of wood to create the correct perspective for them to stand on the keyboard. Needless to say we had a mighty craic and the end result is pretty classic.The new logo design has a vintage feel, inspired by food packaging from the 50's and 60's. Made up of a collage of different facets of each instrument in the band, the logo takes on a completely unique flavour from the materials that inspired it.The guys are planning their first album soon, so fingers crossed it all comes together for them and they make a record which reflects their lovely characters and talent.See the previous shoot here. http://somhairle.co.uk/photography/dr-mango-and-the-chickpeas/
