Allenomis is the brain child of Annalisa Simonella. An architectural engineer by trade she has a unique and ingenious approach to fashion design. Not only are her creations beautifully made, from particularly tactile and practical fabrics they also present a totally new and exciting aesthetic, paired with her technical expertise and logical process she has created something which is, elegant, different and practical. The thought and principal behind these clothes is comprehensive and compassionate. Here is Annalisa describes the project.

"Responsive and responsible garments for the urban dwellerResponsive because they are designed to respond to the climate and the immediate context, allowing the wearer to respond to the increasing complexity of living in an urban environment and the variety of activities we face in our daily lives. Multifunctional design, responsive textiles and technologies are employed to create versatile garments which are also unique, stylish and somehow futuristic.Responsible because they are designed to be durable and timeless. They are ‘holistically’ sustainable: not only the materials are sourced following ethical principles and their production is kept local but they are meant to be used and cherished for a long time thanks to the high quality materials, superior tailoring and the no-season approach.allenomis has been conceived by Annalisa Simonella, an Italian designer living in Scotland. Her background is in architectural engineering and she has applied her knowledge in materials and thermal comfort to create multifunctional and technological fashion which is also stylish and sustainable."

We had great craic doing these photos over two days. Caelley and Lucy were fantastic models and once we'd got used to each other we had a load of laughs and although the days were long everybody totally nailed it. We shot mainly in the studio at the design hub but also made a wee trip to the local derelict warehouse and the glue factory which is a great venue / art space just down the hill from us. I'm really pleased with the photos and the fact that Annalissa was up for me bending the rules. I particularity like shooting full length portraits with my 10-22mm super-wide the distortion on it is pretty RAD and I love the way it skews reality. Fashion photography on the surface seems to be filled with convention but on further research especially into the past it seems the biggest names are the ones that have pushed the envelope and created waves. So I'm happy to have some stuff in here that is a little out of the ordinary and adds a bit of edge.I also designed the type face and logo for the brand. Annalisa had chosen a font which she liked Isbit Pro. I used this as a template and refigured each character to add curves and subtleties which engendered it more towards the side of elegance and aesthetic flow. I'm pleased with the result I think it encapsulates the futuristic, boldness of the clothes while retaining a feminine and refined character which is not to radically out of step with the forms of typography that are prevalent in the fashion industry. Personally I am a big fan of out there type which is pretty unreadable and off the wall. It's a field of creativity that really captures my imagination but in this case we needed something which generated a firm and original identity whilst remaining readable and contemporary.
