Squall - Music Documentary
This film pretty much marks the end of the 'Squall' project for me. The film was released almost a year after it had been filmed and the project has been long and pretty arduous. We have taken no short cuts and have pretty much made the whole making and promoting of the album as demanding as possible. From hand writing all sleeve notes and titles, to the actual recording of the audio live in front of a studio audience in remote highland Scotland, we have pretty much put our all into album that was a long time coming for Sutherland. He has lived and breathed music since I met him when he was 14 or so. For him to have taken such a headlong run at this is laudable and I think the result captures the man and his music very well.Filmed pretty much on the hoof in a loose documentary style, in between taking photos for Adam and doing extra work for the Ceilidh Place. I drove from Glasgow to Ullapool 6 times in one week in heavy weather and the whole process has been heavy on my time. Still if you believe in something you have to go the extra mile don't you?Anyway I think the film speaks for itself, if it doesn't I haven't really done my job have I? Give it a watch and then go a buy the album, well that's the idea any how. It is a very fine album, different, accomplished and true.http://adamsutherland.co.ukHere are the links to the other 'Squall' posts, pertaining to album sleeve design, photos and website.http://somhairle.co.uk/everything/adam-sutherland-squall-album-cover-art
