I love working with Rachel. She's some woman... Hardest working woman in folk business? Bold for Sure.Here's the new artwork and photos for her new album WEST. Filmed, Photographed and philosophically mulled over in Achnahaird, Wester Ross. This is also where she recorded her album on her own in her Grannies house. A true solo record, with only the capable Mattie Foulds and his strange russian microphone for company. Oddly Matties weird soviet mic was a LOMO the same make as the awful / excellent medium format camera I shot the booklet photos with. God I love / hate that camera.It's no secret how much I love Wester Ross, it's probably where I will end my life, decrepit and weather beaten. It's between there or Assynt... I like everything about it up there, the wet feet, the fleeting paradise, the endless game of dodge the midge, the sea, the mountains the heath and Norman McCaig. But I digress, this is about Rachel and her bold adventures in Folk Music. I greatly admire her fervour and the fact that she has literally molicated her spine for the harp. What will she do next?
