Kiev 4 - Love and Holidays

Been all over the shop the last wee while, Love and Holidays with my Family and my Girl along with the trusty wee Kiev 4 Russian range finder.I never tire of the magical light leaks off this beast, I know they are undesirable and get in the way of the picture but sometimes they just make the whole picture better. Technically wrong but creatively right, analogue flaws, mechanical deficiencies. Whatever I love it. Besides it's easily reined in with a roll of gaffer tape.There's a lot of noise especially on these digital scans. The film is ISO 400 and to digitise the last batch I ended up lighting the prints and photographing them with the DSLR. However these scans from LomoLab were better than the previous batch so I can live with the flattened noise. Thing about noise on a print is that's it's 3d and actually adds a great deal to the tactile nature of the pictures. Whatever, digital is great but analogue just has so much vibe man, I love the imperfections the randomness of it all. Life is good bring on the winter.
