Herron Valley - Roam - Album artwork

So this was a refreshing project. The band had a strong concept and good reference images. I had already designed their logo back in 2016 and it's great to see it all pulled together on some actual merchandise. The album artwork was strongly influenced by a real painting the band had found online. I basically took the reference image and emulated it in artrage, which is a really cool digital painting package. Unexpectedly this cover reignited my love of more expressive painting and I have been taking some time to do some painting in real life based on my landscape photography work. You know it's a dream of mine to retire to a croft somewhere in the north west and paint. Who knows if this will ever happen but it is nice to dream and painting with real paint and brushes on canvas is so rewarding.
