Hamish Napier

So what can be said about Hamish Napier? Firstly he is a long standing and dear friend, his music is inspiring and technically impeccable. His signature high brow Jazz / Folk fusion is original and imaginative and his Quartet is a mighty musical force oozing talent and capability.Working with Hamish is brilliant fun, he is considered but enjoys doing things that fly in the face of the mainstream and after a long and in depth browse through Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis and Weather Report covers he was sold on creating an identity that was strong, legible but at the same time quirky, slightly avant garde and most certainly different. So you see the result, all his print and branding has been kept grayscale accented with pure cyan. I love this simplistic approach it adds gravitas and portrays a classic, time-less demeanour which fits Hamish's music perfectly.His site has been up for a while now and is slowly getting battered into a pretty pleasing shape. With only a shoe string budget Hamish has put a lot of work into the site himself, aside from the graphics and site styling I've just tried to steer Hamish along the right paths to creating a stylish Wordpress Blog and i think he's doing a good job. With a nice simplicity and a wee touch of retro this site goes to show what can be done with not much money and a whole lot of learning and hard work. Hamish being a staunch apple consumer even has the whole thing running on his iPhone which is quite impressive if you're into that sort of thing. The sites full of some classic music - both for listening and learning and some great comedy videos. Long may the man prosper...
