Cynthia MacLeod - Photography, Logo & Website Design
This is the first transatlantic project I've done. Cynthia MacLeod a fine Cape Breton fiddler from Prince Edward Island commissioned me to do photos and website when she was in Glasgow for Celtic Connections. So one dreich night in January we set up the studio with a brief of warm and sunny. All the photos you see here have no digital effects applied, I achieved the flares and colour effects by over exposing, randomising white balance and hanging fairy lights in front of my lens. Sometimes I even used shutter speeds beyond the speed of the flash sync to achieve odd vignettes and shaded areas. We had a great night and my wonderful assistant Shona Masson did a great job of Cynthia's Make-up and holding fiddles in various positions.I also designed Cynthia new logo - based on her signature - and designed the website in a style that fitted the vibe of the photos. All in all I think the result is pretty nice, very much what Cynthia was after and the photos I've put up here are a bit more on the radical side. Cynthia's taste is much more refined and less edgy than mine should we say. So to see the choices she made from the shoot head over to...http://www.cynthiamacleod.com/ and check out her fine playing while you're there too.
