The ceilidh place.com

the-ceilidh-place1

So the ceilidhplace.com is finally on the go after much wrangling with 1&1 to release the domain names. But we got there in the end, just a distraction I could have done without. The site is another flash extravaganza with fancy tweens, music and full screen background action. The flash is supported by a wordpress blog and a single html page which I have learnt over the years provides the much needed SEO boost that flash usually requires. Hopefully we will be able to add some more music, poetry and art to the site as it goes along, the idea is to reflect the fact that the ceilidh place is as much a cultural hub as it is a hotel. The body of the site is pretty basic with most pages being typographically based. The initial concept of just clicking on parts of the building was imbellished with a menu bar and forward and back buttons to provide users with multiple points of entry. So check it out, I hope folk are in to it.

NLP team.net and NLP sport pro.com

nlp-sites

So nlpteam.net and nlpsportpro.com are up and running. Donald has put some posts up to set the tone and get things rolling. The sites are set up as community blogs so if you have an interest in neuro linguistic programming and would like to contribute then sign up.

The sites were built on the irrepressible wordpress blogging platform using a theme from new media designer Christian Budschedl – kriesi.at. This is a fantastic theme with brilliant use of the java script library jquery, it is utilized in creating some nifty effects like interactive animated headings, animated tabbed menus and some cool community / favourite actions. The theme is available at themeforest.

I’ve made a few tweaks to the theme, just to get the layout the way we wanted. Changed a few icons and diddled the type to suit the colour scheme. All logos and illustrations are by schmo.
