Due to a happy windfall. I have gone back to Macintosh after being on various different PC’s for about 11 years. I learnt how to use photoshop when it was on version 2 on the classic old PPC Power Mac. I’m glad that the computer world is slowly dropping it’s bad attitude over multi platform computing. I’ve still got my PC and after a bit of a struggle everything is talking to each other (on a rudimentary level at least). After a few hours using os X it was like I’d never been away. Cudos to Macintosh for stunning design, simplistic user interactions and the genius that is multi-touch. I have encountered no serious problems as yet. Although CS3 has crashed a couple of times but as usual that’s from me asking it to do to much. Anyhow enough of this geek speak back to the drawing …

Here’s one of the logo options for a new set of blog based sites I’m setting up for Donald MacNaughton of zoned in performance. I set up the flash site for zoned in performance and it’s great to be working with him on a completely different type of website. The three sites will work together to build a community and resource around donalds seminars, courses and written work.
The site will be built using the irrepresable Wordpress backend, with a few add-ons here and there and of course the schmo graphical touch.
Check back soon the sites should be up within the next fortnight…

Here’s the poster for the Treacherous Orchestra’s gig @ celtic connections. They’ve added Fraser Stone (percussion) to the line up so he’s been drawn in to the cartoon. We also came up with this (preliminary) whirlwind logo. This logo is still up for development so expect some changes along the way. You can book tickets for the gig @ the celtic connections web site.

Just sorted out this rather wacky cover for my long established co-hort in all things creative. Misha wrote the book when he was recovering from malaria he contracted during his travels. I was pleasantly suprised with the writing and the story is, well, classic Somerville.
Check his website @ http://www.mishasomerville.com for more info and take a squizz at the aluminium whistles he fabricates @ http://www.jazzwhistle.com

Got a new html site up check it out. www.schmo.biz.
The site’s a bit of a departure from my flash site, which is still up (just click the flash button at the bottom left). This sites a bit more run of the mill and complies with w3c web standards. The main bulk of content is image based and powered by the stunning java app lightbox.
Hope you all dig it??

Spend a wonderfull new years up in Ullapool with the family and extended (not related) family. Had great craic at the ceilidh place and I have to put a special thanks in for Jean and Robbie MacKenzie who magically sorted out a room for me and the MacDonald clan.
So I’m well under way with the new Ceilidh Place web site. The main site will be flash based and incorporate seminal music and poetry centered round the ceilidh place itself. There will also be a wordpress blog set-up for html users and so the staff can update the events section of the flash site. Hopefully we will have the content together soon, and the site will go up. expect to see it mid Fev early March…
